Because these forums are horribly slow sometimes, and I'm bored of the recruitment forum let me ask a question!

How should I book numerous days off work in the next couple of weeks to attend job interviews?

Doctors has already been used, as has a followup appointment and the dentists is en route. What else?

Do you need to give a reason? When I book days off I just say "I need this day off", I don't tell them why and they don't ask.

If they need reasons, how about:

• I have friends coming over to from abroad and need to meet them at the airport
• I'm helping a friend move house
• I have a plumbing/electrical problem at home and need to wait for a plumber/electrician

Or the best reason of all, and the one I used when I booked time off for an interview while at my last job:

• I need the day off to go for a job interview

One of my work collegues had to take her cat to the vets on the day she had an interview .

Its my GFs bday and im taking her to X?
Its wow patch day and i need to go stare at the server being offline?
My car needs its mot..
Im getting a new pc delivered and they wont deliver out of work hours so i have to stay home and wait for it.
Optician appointment?
Friday/monday ones can have a long weekend traveling to somewhere..

Although, I work with my gf, that might be a bit dodgy if she shows up to work and I don't. ;p

If you book a day off work you have to specifically say what you're doing?

Or are you just trying to get days off without using Holidays?

My excuses are usually along the lines of:
I just fancy a day off lounging around the house
I'm going out the night before and don't want to come in Hungover.

I've especially used it when I can't be bothered taking the entire day off for an interview, so I make sure its in the morning and go to work for the afternoon.

Saves on Holidays, more believeable that you only want the morning off. And possibly helps with the interview asking for it as early as possible

Personally I wouldnt expect to have to give a reson, unless its short notice.

If I did I'd probably go with Tonmas' suggestions, and they'd usually be right anyway.

when they ask u why u need the day off just say " it's just too upsetting to talk about at the moment" then stare at the ground asif your whole world has collapsed... ok i don't have a job and i don't have my national insurance number in yet to get one but ive used it to get out of detention before

Family reasons. x family member in hospital. (this can backfire if they know each other xD)

Relatives from South Africa coming up for a week always got me off school and work nicely

Used the hospital one recently, but unfortunately it wasn't just an excuse. I don't want to use that as I may actually need to use it again at short notice.

Still. Lots of good reasons, and a bit of variety!
