Many are not wow clones.
There are no quests and levels and experience in EvE. Greatest asset of a player in EvE are his skills, and those skills can be learned in real time, u don't have to be online for it.
It is imposible for me to make a parallel between WoW and EvE, because EvE has industry, pirates, bounty hunters, mercenarys, traders, 0.0 alliances that take fleet battles 500 vs 500 or larger.
When i say industry for example i don't mean a 10 second craft. The largest ship in eve has a construction time of 2 months, if u hold that shipyard until the end of the construction ofc.

Here are some vids, one is made by CCP and the rest are fan made, all use in game footage.

The game is not noob friendly, but if u want to try it pm me your e-mail and i can send u 21 day trial, or u can take the standard 14 day if i don't send it to u in time :).

PS. found 2 more that i like. Some vids are very old so the graphics are not the same, but still fans imagination.

I personally can't see how it's gonna work, and am kinda dreading seeing 500 HK-47's in the first 10 minutes, which I suppose won't be much different to seeing 500 Sith with lightsabers...
Read a couple of reviews about some gameplay some press got to see at E3 (was gonna look more into it, but the forum is down, I think they're upgrading alot of stuff, or just sucking).

Aparantly, the Sith being used in the game demo worked a bit like a rogue, in the respect that doing attacked built up something like combo points, which gave you access to other abilities. Says combat seems more fast pasted than Wow and such.
In the demo there was a ship captain not following orders or some such, and dialog choices work on a vote from the party, so if 1 person says to kill him and 2 say to forgive him, forgiving him works. The next encounter involving a Jedi was different depending on that choice. And the only way to see what would happen the other way would be to play the entire thing again.

Thus, I can see the game having great replay value even if the end game is a bit sucky.

There's a stress test coming up that anyone who registered interest in beta (directly, or via curse codes) should get into. Though stress tests that fail aren't really fun.

Played so far:

Sith Inquisitor - (fun story, weak class)
Bounty Hunter - (average story, strong class)
Jedi Knight - (fun story, average class) - this is the highest level char I've got but apparently the class quest I'm on is bugged and so I can't go any further :(

I'm going to open up my beta access to friends here if anyone is interested. I've played a fair amount myself and enjoyed it, but at the end of the day it's a beta and I will unlikely buy the game (I have a load of others to play and I don't know that many people planning on playing TOR).

A couple of things:
1) I don't know how soon the beta will end. Early access starts on the 20th so it will be sometime before that. It could be next week for all I know.
2) I don't know how strict Bioware will be about account sharing, they could shut it down based on weird IP logins.
3) It's full beta, not just this weekend.

If you are interested then post here and I'll PM you some details. I am more likely to let people that I know well use it than other guildies who I've barely spoken to. This is still my account and I'd rather not have any marks against my name.
