The Shattering

Post by Dave »

Servers just went down, tomorrow is the Shattering! And I went out of 4.0.3 epically! Just got exalted with the Zandalar tribe 12 minutes before server shut down!

Hope you all enjoy the new Azeroth. ;D

Cheers Wilco! :)

Servers are (or were) up. Dani ran around new Stormwind a bit, but then she disconnected, and she couldn't reconnect after one attempt so she quit to play L4D2. I'm just leaving my game to finish updating. 5.3 GB to go! :?

Ash, if you didn't see the cinematic trailer already, you're in for a treat. If you did... well... don't get too excited about logging in.

I just read something funny about the shattering on mmo-champion

- You can use profession-crafted flying mounts in azeroth, like flying carpet and the engineering helicopter

Hurry! While it lasts!

I assume they work the same way that all flying mounts work until you get the skill (which requires cata) - they just try and lift off but fail.

Oh, I thought you were going to be able to use flying mounts in Azeroth, is that not the case?

I've underlined the important part for you. ;)

Flying mounts in Azeroth are part of the expansion, and we're not quite there yet.

Ahhhh, thanks. :)

Will it be immediate or not until you've levelled? Like the cold weather flying in the previous one?

I believe you need to train it like with Northrend flying, but I don't think it'll cost as much.

Last I heard it'll cost 250 gold and you can train it immediately when the expansion goes live on the 7th.

Finally got round to buying a new game card. I'll probably be online tonight. Can't wait to see what's happened :)

So, I've played through both the gnome and troll starting zones, and I've gotta say, 'Jolly good show, Blizz'! Great fun, infinitely better than the old starting zones. I actually deleted my gnome priest to start it again. Yeah, I changed my mind with the name and didn't wanna pay for a name change on a level six character, but still, I liked it! They're not mega-epic or anything, but I do like that everything connects, you're doing something more important than killing X number of boars, then X number of wolves, then X number of another kind of boar all the time. And I like the idea of having a 'boss' at the end of it all too. Tomorrow I'll be doing the tauren starting zone with a friend, so I'm hoping the normal starting zones have been made more interesting too.
